How we write our guides

Again, With Love is a small, family-inspired project by Again, With Love LLC. We write for one person: a family caregiver, often tired, often reading on a phone in a rare quiet moment, looking for a plain answer to a hard question. So we hold our guides to a standard we can stand behind. Here is exactly how they are made.

Who writes them

Our guides are written and edited by the Again, With Love team. We do not invent experts, and we do not put a made-up name or a set of credentials on our work. When a guide draws on the knowledge of a doctor, a nurse educator, or a caregiving organization, we say so and we link to them.

How we handle facts

Every health fact in a guide is traced to a named, reliable source, or it comes out. We rely on the National Institute on Aging, the Alzheimer's Association, peer-reviewed research, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and we read the source before we cite it. When research is early or mixed, we say that plainly rather than making it sound more certain than it is. We would rather give you less and have it be true than give you more and have it be hype.

We keep our own numbers honest too. If a study measured a group average, we tell you it was a group average, because it cannot tell any one family how things will go for them.

What our guides are, and are not

Our guides share general caregiving information and support. They are not medical advice, they are not a diagnosis, and they are not a treatment plan. Every situation is different, and the same behavior can have different causes, so please treat what you read here as a starting point for a conversation with your own doctor. For a sudden or severe change, contact a clinician. In an emergency, call 911.

How we write

We write in plain words, at a reading level a tired person can move through quickly. We lead with the answer, then explain underneath it. We name the common traps kindly, and we never use fear to get your attention. We treat both the caregiver and the person living with dementia with dignity, always.

When we get something wrong

We are human, and we would rather fix a mistake than defend one. If you spot something that reads wrong, or a source that has changed, email us at hello@againwithlove.com and we will look into it and update the guide if it needs it. We show the date on every guide, so you can see when it was published or last reviewed.

How this is paid for

Again, With Love is a small project, not a big company. Today our guides carry no ads, no sponsorships, and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, we will disclose it plainly, right next to the recommendation, never buried in a footer.

Questions about any of this are welcome at hello@againwithlove.com. You can also read more about us, see our guides, or read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
